Love's Holiday

One of the any things I love about when Dr. J and I spend time together is that it always feels like I'm on vacation. Time stops, all of my worries and stressors disappear, and we just enjoy our moments together. We enjoy life--we always share great meals together--we laugh a LOT. Every now and then we'll notice that we are being watched and our theory is that there are some bitter people in this world who do not like seeing other people happy. You know, the couple that goes to the restaurant and they just sit together silently and eat--they tend to be the folks looking annoyed when we're laughing and having a ball. But I digress. I couldn't have asked for a nicer weekend--well the weather was pretty awful. But it was a great break from dissertation work to see Dr. J. The only thing I hate of course is that it comes to an end. We had a great time together this weekend and Dr. J enjoyed my Valentine's/publication surprise which was a trip to the spa for a couples massage. It was obviously a treat for me too and we have decided this will be at least a semi-annual event because it was GREAT. This was above and beyond my best Valentine's celebration to date but every day with Dr. J feels like a holiday so I'm not really surprised.
