Are We Writing Yet??

Wednesday was a total loss--Sick Day #1 of the dissertation process. Spent the entire day in bed.

Seeing that Thursday is now over, I guess you would say that today was a loss too. I spent most of the day in the car with no AC on in 97 degree heat. Needless to say, I felt a little drained by the time I finally made it home. Only redeeming value of the day, I did have some time to read. Great new book if you're interested in race, class, and gender issues: Calling Cards: Theory and Practice in the Study of Race, Gender, and Culture (edited by Jacqueline Jones Royster and Ann Marie Mann Simpkins). I have not gone through all of the essays yet, but I'm enjoying it so far. I wish I was as articulate as Royster in expressing why it is so important to do scholarly work on race and gender.

I need to get some work done. Chapter two is calling--again...
